Herbalism is a logic and deduction game for 3-4 players and is set several thousand years ago, at the birth of herb-based medicine. Your goal is to become a pharmacist and cure a disease pandemic that has taken over the country. Herbalism allows players to use various actions to exchange information about the combination of ingredients to find the cure. It doesn’t appear to be a Pandemic play-alike, especially with the action elements missing.
Truthfully, we didn’t know how badly we needed the title of God-Farmer until we set our sights on Herbalism.
Herbalism was originally published in Taiwan by EmperorS4. It was lauded as a hot game at SPIEL ’17, but North American audiences haven’t had the opportunity to play the game. Deep Water Games is looking to bring Herbalism (and the rest of EmperorS4’s lineup) to North America.
“Partnering with EmperorS4 to bring their impressive lineup of games to the North American audience has enabled us to hit the ground running as a company. Taking our first title, Herbalism, to Kickstarter just made sense,” Travis McIntire, Deepwater Games founder, said in a press release. Deep Water Games is looking to bring the base version of Herbalism to Kickstarter backers as soon as March 2018.
The Kickstarter for Herbalism went live on January 30 and is quickly climbing towards its modest goal.
